DEI Special Edition: Celebrating Black History Month

Black History Month, also known as African American History Month, is celebrated in the United States (and Canada) during the month of February. The observance is an important time to recognize and honor the contributions and achievements of African Americans throughout U.S. history.

To celebrate, the Melton Foundation shares the historical influence of African Americans and the tangible impact of the Civil Rights movement on Immigration in the United States, a key factor in why the Melton Foundation USA is the largest Senior Fellow region.

“Historias más allá de las fronteras”: Resumen del Festival Global de Storytelling 2022

The Festival Global de Storytelling 2022 was a celebration of the power of storytelling, as a way to spark change and create peace and empathy through comon experiences and stories. Co-organized by Lighthouse Storytelling -a new-media organization brought up by Melton Fellows around the world-, this event was the first of its kind in Spanish, opening new venues for storytellers to connect, beyond barriers of language!

The Festival consisted in 4 main events: A Preliminar Talk, an Opening Pannel, a Hands-on Workshop, and a Showcase for Arts and Storytelling; each one hosting many diverse storytellers from many places across Latin America and Europe.
