New Fellows Unite, Collaborate, Design, and Learn!

Each January, the latest "batch" of new Melton fellows gathers for a New Fellows Orientation, a time for training in global citizenship, bonding, and creating lifelong memories.

This year, the New Fellow Orientation (NFO) took place in Berlin, Germany. Our new fellows were joined by senior fellows and partner organizations for five days of fun, learning new skills like design thinking, workshops on topics such as cross-cultural communication, and of course…food!

As the new fellows reflected on their experiences at the #NFO2017, they felt that the Melton Foundation is about empowering global citizens to unite for a cause, creating spaces to critically reflect about global issues and design solutions together; about discovering the merits of intercultural collaborations and equipping global change-makers to constructively deal with the challenges of doing so; and about continuously learning from one’s own experiences and that of others, while continuously improving the work they do.

In a world where divisive forces are growing stronger every day, the new fellows – global citizens from different social, economic, cultural, and racial backgrounds – celebrated coming together and cherished the beauty and significance of diversity.
