Melton Fellow Karla Araya’s Project on Inclusive Recycling!

We are thrilled to announce a new guide to inclusive recycling in low and middle income countries from one of our institutional partners, MIT’s D-Lab, featuring Melton Fellow Karla Araya Castro!

For the past two years, Melton Fellows and staff have joined MIT D-Lab’s Practical Impact Alliance (PIA) for their annual Co-Design Summit. Karla was a participant in Zambia in 2016. Through this and other collaborations, the Melton Foundation and D-Lab are collaborating across boundaries to forge new solutions to today’s global challenges.

Karla said, “Thanks to the entire Inclusive Recycling team for such an enriching experience. Thanks to the girls from MIT’s D-Lab for facilitating our meetings and for all the great work you did. Thanks to the Melton Foundation for the amazing opportunity to contribute from our field. And thanks to Gustavo Ciudad from Instituto del Medio Ambiente (IMA-UFRO) and UFRO Sustentable for letting this happen.”

We can’t wait to see what Karla does next, and look forward to continuing to work with PIA and D-Lab in the future!
