As the Melton Foundation transitioned into the first decade of the millennium, it initiated Senior Fellow Orientations and International Travel Groups. Notably, it opened up to organizations and external speakers and guests, setting in motion the formation of partnerships that last up to this day!
As the Melton Foundation entered a new era, it continued to grow, incorporating into its fold Social Service Projects, New Melton Fellow Orientations, and our first Alumni Meet while strengthening the practice of Symposiums, cultural presentations, and cross-boundary collaborations!
Before the over 500 fellows around the world, the dozen international events, and the impactful collaborations and projects connecting across continents, the Melton Foundation started little. With only eight students -four in Germany, four in the United States-, the Foundation took the first steps towards what would turn into decades of impactful collaboration and cross-cultural learning programs that would benefit thousands of students around the globe.
The Global Storytelling Festival 2021 was a celebration of the power of storytelling as a vehicle for creating sustainable impact. Through a storytelling workshop, a mini-story contest, and a showcase, we brought together the brightest storytellers from around the world, bridging inherent cultural gaps!
As inheritors of this planet, young people are in the pilot's seat to spearhead the sustainable development agenda and foster a new system of development grounded in knowledge sharing, cooperation, and inclusion. The Global Citizenship Virtual Ideathon 2021 was the biggest edition of our Ideathons yet, with more than 200 registrations, 63 participants, and 11 teams from 20+ countries around the world! Starting with a kick-off session on the 22nd of April, 2021, over the course of the next 72 hours, interdisciplinary teams were formed and guided by mentors to produce comprehensive solutions which solved some key global concerns society faces today!
